LSA IT Advocacy and Research Support staff work closely with you to evaluate your research technology needs and outline the best solutions. 

  • Consult on custom design and development of software to support your research.
  • Consult on needed programming to support research activities.
  • Assist in choosing appropriate platform, software and proof of concept coding to begin your research.
  • Provide assistance with refactoring and optimization of code to aid data collection.
  • Provide reference to training and coding resources to assist in your project.

Need scientific computer programming help or assistance? The Advocacy and Research Support group can assist you with programming projects big and small. We specialize in a wide range of tasks including data analysis, experimental control, and instrument automation. Our language expertise is largely in MATLAB, LabVIEW, and C/C++, but we can provide help for a variety of others.  Please contact us at with any questions or to get started.

Who can use the service?: 

Faculty and Researchers in LSA.

Rates & Pricing: 

LSA IT will provide up to 20 hours of research programming for Faculty and their labs at no cost. Projects that require more than 20 hours, will be subject to recharge. If funds aren't available, contact the ARS team at for consideration. The current recharge rate for the LSA IT Research Programming service is $48.28 per hour and includes consultation, design, programming, testing, and code maintenance. Consider including LSA IT’s Advocacy and Research Support (ARS) team in your next grant.
